Mount Baker - Easton Glacier

Overview:

This route starts from the south side of Mount Baker, above Baker Lake. The hike begins through the forest, eventually ascending the gentle slopes of the Easton or Squak glaciers. Depending on the time of year, you may encounter a significant amount of open crevasses on the glacier. At 9600’ you will reach the Sherman crater and you will be treated to amazing views (and smells!) into the volcano crater. From the crater, ascend the moderately steep snow slopes to the summit plateau and finally the summit of Mount Baker at 10,786’. Descent is via the same route.
